1. User Experience Designer
We're looking for a User Experience expert to help take our product designs to the next level. Working as part of Swoopo's Product Management team, the User Experience Designer is responsible for end-to-end digital delivery, from requirements gathering to testing to produce compelling and fun experiences for our customers. You will have seen projects from proposal to launch and be able to defend your designs with business metrics or user-derived quantitative and qualitative data.The ideal candidate will be someone who has a background in usability, interaction design, information architecture and experimental or cognitive psychology. You should be a self-starter, detail-oriented and excel at multitasking and prioritizing competing requirements.
Your responsibilities:
- Work closely with a cross-functional team (product managers, user design, engineering, auction management, procurement and customer service) to deliver against the product roadmap, successfully implementing new features, and tracking their benefit/impact
- Work with product managers, visual designers and other project stakeholders to translate the product vision into clear and comprehensive design documents that support product development. Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing personas, use case scenarios; define information architecture, navigation and interaction flow for high-level requirements and interaction design. Communicate them through data-and workflow diagrams, state transition diagrams, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
- Champion user issues in the improvement of existing features, synthesizing stakeholder input into prioritized, actionable prototypes and specifications.
- Coordinate, plan and execute user research efforts (interviews, surveys, usability testing, focus groups, multivariate tests, etc.) as needed. Identify the appropriate qualitative and / or quantitative research methods, designs and samples to inform business decisions.
- Drive the vision and customer experience of the platform, promoting usability best practices and user interface web standards across internal and external stakeholder groups
- Solid usability and interaction design skills including developing scenarios, Usability Analysis, Rapid Prototyping and Heuristic Evaluations. Deep knowledge and experience in best practices for Web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques. A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience in creating great user-centered design solutions
- Strong experience planning and conducting different types of usability tests, surveys, multivariate and uni-variate testing and other methods of collecting user feedback. Experience with Webanalytics is a plus.
- Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the Web and Web-based devices.
- Ability to prioritize among many competing alternatives and plans, balance customer needs with business priorities, and articulate the rationale behind decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build consensus and evangelize products and ideas across global teams and across levels in the organization.
- Self-motivated, deadline-driven, ability to support multiple projects at a time.
- Advanced degree in a HCI related subject (Interactions Design, Usability, human-computer interaction, or psychology)
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role as Information Architect/ Interaction Designer/Usability Consultant in the online industry, preferably e-commerce or gaming. Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.

Your responsibilities:
- Learn how to handle the basic daily operational tasks across marketing, procurement and customer services, including Google AdWords, Facebook marketing and purchasing from Amazon
- Contribute your efforts and new ideas to these tasks, helping us to achieve our overall goals

3. Business Development Manager UK
The Business Development Manager has a great deal of experience in start-up environments with consumer facing products, preferably in the ecommerce arena. The Business Development Manager will be a resourceful, well-connected results-driven internet entrepreneur responsible for the growth and success of our business in the UK. Your responsibilities:- Driving revenue growth particularly through the development of partnerships with other businesses
- Creating and executing strategic and tactical plans to grow traffic, increase monetization, develop online content and foster user participation.
- Building and developing relationships with key suppliers.
- Understanding the needs of the local customer base, specific market requirements and competitive trends and using that knowledge to further the success of projects and operations.
- Creating and proposing new product ideas for the UK site, working closely with the product management team based in Munich.
- Being the local go-to person for all team members in the London office
- Business development experience, including a track record of successfully establishing and developing online partnerships within in the UK
- An extensive network of contacts within the UK media and online sectors
- Ability to interact with and to develop relationships with a diverse group of personnel ranging from senior executives to middle managers and individual technical contributors.
- Prior web and dot com experience in start-up companies is a must; passion for ecommerce vertical is a plus.
- Experience managing a small team, including recruitment and performance management.

4. Auction Designer US/CA
As a member of our international Auction Design Team you’ll be responsible for the local matching of products and designs used as part of running Swoopo in the US and Canada. You’ll be informed about what future auctions are going to be run from category managers based in our German headquarters. From these basic item details you’ll match the local products and create the pages that will be shown to bidders based in the US and Canada, using details from the manufacturers’ web-sites and other available sources. You’ll also contribute to the overall Swoopo design and branding effort – taking us beyond our existing look and feel and constantly thinking of potential improvements we could make.Responsibilities:
- The design of US and Canada auctions.
- You’ll write and design the description pages for the auctions displayed on the US and Canada site.
- Creating compelling description pages that really sell our products and attract bids, through good images and copy.
- Management of the product database in our ERP system.
- Matching of products between countries, ensuring the key criteria are met.
- Working closely with the Procurement Team to manage our supplier relations
- Assisting the marketing Team with any ad–hoc design requests.
- You have excellent US or Canadian English verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of graphic design applications such as Photoshop or GIMP.
- Experience in HTML and the use of WYSIWYG applications such as Dreamweaver or NVU.

7. Accountant (m/f) for USA and Canada
Your responsibilities:- Ensure all transactions (bank, suppliers, customers) are well recorded in our accounting systems in due time
- Manage payments for our suppliers and refunds to our customers
- Ensure that best practices and key policies are applied and significant issues brought to the attention of the Head of Accounting
- Perform account reconciliations on an ongoing basis
- Monitor accounts receivables
- Perform fixed assets accounting
- Month-end and year end closure
Your profile:
- We are looking for accounting professionals with US-GAAP and HGB knowledge, ideally an university degree in economics, accountancy or equivalent
- Ideally 2 years experience in accounting acquired in an international company
- You have excellent English verbal and written communication skills (US native speakers preferred)
- Talent for organization, the ability to work under pressure, a strong focus on service, the ability to work in a team and in an international environment
- Very good general PC-skills (Microsoft, SAGE, SAP)
- German language skills would be a plus, but is not a must
